Linux How To

Installer Linux est une tâche assez aliénante, voici un résumé de quelques problème que j'ai rencontré avec les solutions:

Visual C++ 2005 Notes

Vista Hard Drive

The hard drive is driving you crazy?

  • Disable Shadow copies and System restore: Control Panel->System and Maintenance->System
  • Disable Windows Search Indexing: Control Panel->Indexing Options (remove all)
  • Disable Superfetch: Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services
  • Disable ReadyBoost (useless): Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services

Vista Clear Type

There is no other feature that I have heard so much positive and negative feedback about than ClearType screen font smoothing. Some users think this feature is great while other complain that it makes the text blurry and hard to read. If you are one of those that do not like ClearType then this tweak is for you.

Open Registry Editor. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Control Panel and Desktop. Set FontSmoothingType to 1. Set FontSmoothing to 1. Reboot.

 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
 FontSmoothingType = 1
 Set FontSmoothing = 1

For Internet Explorer 9

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

Then install:

Windows 7 - Enabling Windows Mail

Enabling Windows Mail in Windows 7 Some people Running the Windows 7 Pre Beta 6801 have been asking about Windows Mail in Windows seven and where they can find it.

The strange thing is it is there but it's hidden and doesn't do anything when you click on it, although you will see it in task manager, so if you do want Windows Mail this is what you have to do.

First go to folder options and deselect hide protected operating system files and do not show hidden files, you will now be able to see the Windows Mail executable file which was previously hidden.

Next go to your programs folder and Windows Mail folder and take Ownership of all the files in there, you will need to do this one file at a time and Don't Forget to Give Yourself FULL CONTROL of each file.

Just in case there is another fix for this in the Future you may want to make a copy of this folder and keep it somewhere

Once you have taken ownership and given yourself full control copy all your files from Vista's Windows Mail folder and paste and replace ALL of the files in Windows 7 Mail folder.

That's it and DON'T try to click on the Original Hidden WinMail.exe file, if you do you will not be able to replace it, as it will run and you wont see anything but you will still need to kill the process in task manager.

Vista Sync Center

For versions of Vista without the Offline Files plugin (Home Basic or Home Premium), Sync Center can be disabled via the registry as follows.

1 Go to Start/Run and type ‘regedit’. Hit the Enter key or click OK.
2 In the left hand registry editor window (the tree view) go to the following registry address…
In there you should see a branch called…
3 Right-click on the branch and select Delete from the context menu.
4 Look in your system tray. The icon should be gone.
